NAHMIJAS, DANILO
NAHMIJAS, DANILO (1926– ), novelist. Born in Bosnia and raised in Sarajevo, Nahmijas joined the partisans at the age of 17 and after the war became a writer and journalist. He published short stories about his war experiences and three novels dealing with the Holocaust, the Nazi occupation, and Jewish resistance: Nema mjesta pod suncem ("No Place under the Sun," 1959), Razvejano seme ("Seeds Scattered by the Wind," 1960), and Oganj ("Conflagration," 1963).
